HANNAH KREBS

HANNAH KREBS is a dancer who is currently based between Stockholm and Cologne. She completed her Bachelor’s degree in Dance at the University of Music and Dance in Cologne as well as at CCN-ICI Montpellier (M1) and at the University of Dance and Circus in Stockholm. She has performed for, among others Nature Theater of Oklahoma, Ellen Söderhult, Chikako Kaido and Judith Förster. In her own pieces, Hannah Krebs often works across disciplines. Her artistic work is based on interrogating current social issues from a feminist and socially critical perspective. She frequently uses documentary and biographical material to produce aesthetically absurd or surreal situations that play on the perceptions of the audience. These performances have been presented at various art- festivals like Insert Female Artist Festival or at Akademie der Künste der Welt Köln. In May 2020 Hannah Krebs founded in collaboration with Joana Kern the monthly Zoom- talk “Lets talk about the real shit”, a space for dancers to talk about working conditions and things that feel painful in the dance environmnent.

“Dance in itself is innocent, yet it happens within a system, that still supports different forms of discrimination which are deeply rooted in our society.” – Hannah Krebs
